Flying summer...

Oh boy! I was going to tell you about last week but all I remember is that it was hot, mosquitoes and humid... :o(

My parents took us to the concert in the park one evening but do not ask me what they sang or played because we were too preoccupied with the little kids coming to greet us and with our Mommy spraying left and right with Lavender and Marigold.
A little sweet girl kept running away from her Mommy to be with us :o) she was sooo cute!

That was fun!

On the home court, same old same old: my Bro and I saying "Hello" to everybody going by, actually I do most of the "talking". Leo only chimes in when he sees our four-legged friends go by :o)
You have to see this video clip:
My Mommy caught me shredding paper towel; I thought she had the camera on Leo. I saw the paper just laying there and went for it. Why is it sooo much fun to shred paper???

On Sunday we visited with my Nana, Danny G. and our Aunt Shirley & Uncle Roger. They come to visit my Nana once a month from Wisconsin.
I love them! Aunt Shirley "rescued" my Bro from Danny's play zone by holding him on her lap and he was in Heaven.
Danny was as enthusiastic as ever and we played the entire time. He really has a very good heart because he is letting me take cheweez from him.
My Sis likes him very much too. He teases her and she chases him around :o)
On the way home we were zonked from all the fun.

Tomorrow, my Bro & I are going to help Auntie Alicia clean.
My Sis has her Spa day. What a shock that she will not be home to help ;o)

I better go now because I have to floss and then put all my chews away for tomorrow...

Later,
Neeko :o)
P.S. The joke of the day:
~A man walking down the street noticed a small boy trying to reach the doorbell of a house. Even when he jumped up, he couldn't quite reach it. The man decided to help the boy, walked up on to the porch and pushed the doorbell. He looked down at the boy, smiled and asked, "What now?"
The boy answered, "Now we run like crazy!" ~

Going to visit with Daaaany G. Yay!!!

I'm just about to leave the house to go visit my "uncle" Danny G. :o)
I'll tell you all about my week later...
Well, in the mean time, you have to see how much my Bro loves me:

I love being the baby in the family; I get away with lots of naughty stuff ;-)

Later,
Neeko :o)

P.S. The joke for today:
~ Before going to Europe on business, a man drove his Rolls Royce to a downtown NY City bank and went in to ask for an immediate loan of $5,000. The loan officer, taken aback, requested collateral.
"Well, then, here are the keys to my Rolls Royce," the man said. The loan officer promptly had the car driven into the bank's underground parking for safe keeping, and gave him $5,000. Two weeks later, the man walked through the bank's doors, and asked to settle up his loan and get his car back.
"That will be $5,000 in principal, and $15.40 in interest," the loan officer said. The man wrote out a check and started to walk away.
"Wait sir," the loan officer said, "while you were gone I learned that you are a millionaire.
Why in the world would you need to borrow $5,000?
"The man smiled. "Where else could I park my Rolls Royce in Manhattan for two weeks and pay only $15.40?" ~

Not a morning guy!

Hello, I'm back :-)

My weekend was pretty quiet. Due to high temps, we took it easy.
On Sunday evening we went to the park but could not be outside of the car too long because the pesky mosquitoes found us...

The Trio in line for the "restroom" ;-)
The highlight of my weekend though, was visiting my Girlfriends, Zoe and Anastasia with my Daddy. I just LOVE going over to their house as they are always so happy to see me too :-)

I think it was Sunday night when we had a bad storm and you have to remember that my Bro is not fond of those...
In the middle of the night he started climbing on my parents and was panting hard. I just ignored the situation because I need my beauty sleep but it was not easy with him carrying out like that.

You should all know that I'm not a morning guy; I really like to sleep in until 8-8:30am.
My Mommy carries me out back around 7am and we both end up standing there. Me with my brakes on and she with her broken record: "Neeko go potty!". She keeps saying it over and over again until she gets tired of the mosquitoes and then she picks me up and carries me back in the house were I scoot back to bed until about 8:30. Maybe one of these mornings she will get it that I'm a Yorkie with quirks ;-)
During the day I just hung out in my lookout window working on my projects...

I even made it in my Grandpa's painting with my own work of art...

Check me out with my Daddy and my siblings...

I'm busy working on one of my cheweez, while my Sis is worried that I might fall off of my Daddy's back... She is really a very good big sister to me :-)

I have to go now, my Mommy just told me is bed time and I still need to floss.
Later,
Neeko :-)
P.S. The joke of the day:
A vampire bat came flapping in from the night covered in fresh blood and parked himself on the roof of the cave to get some sleep. Pretty soon all the other bats smelled the blood and began hassling him about where he got it.
He told them to go away and let him get some sleep but they persisted until finally he gave in.
"OK, follow me" he said and flew out of the cave with hundreds of bats behind him.
Down through the valley they went, across a river and into a forest full of trees. Finally he slowed down and all the other bats excitedly milled around him.
"Now, do you see that tree over there?" he asked.
"Yes, Yes, Yes!" the bats all screamed in a frenzy.
"Good" said the bat, "Because I sure as hell didn't!"

I've got Girlfriends, I've got lots of Girlfriends...

Fiiiiinally!!! I got my Mommy to take the time in helping me with my new post. Whew!

Well, let's see...
I met a new Girlfriend named Sophia. She is really pretty, tall and skinny like a model and very shy. It was kind of cute how she was hiding behind her Daddy's legs.
I cannot say the same about one of her brothers though...
Her Mommy is very sweet and a very classy lady so I'm not going to translate to her what her boy Howard said to me. Let's just say that he told me to stay away from his baby sister by using unapproved language.
Sophia's parents are wonderful humans. All of Sophia's brothers are rescues just like me.
God Bless You Auntie Deb & Uncle Bob.

I was so excited to go visit again with Zoe & Anastasia. See for yourselves...

Zoe after dinner :-)

Sweet Anastasia :-)

Here I was telling the Girls that I was there for them ;-)

One late evening, I had a great surprise visit from my Girlfriend Tuffy. Remember her? She is really cute and very friendly. Even my Sis was happy to see her and her Mommy. We were all discussing the mosquito infestation we are having this summer and how annoyed we all are because of it.
My Mommy even called the Village to complain and asked what are they going to do about it. She was told that they budgeted for only four spray sessions for this summer. Outrageous! I heard her say over the phone. I guess she was not very happy with their mediocre planning for the rainy, hot & muggy summer we are experiencing.

Let's just say that we all smell very feminine from being sprayed all the time with Lavender, Jasmine and now Marigold... My Mommy says that it helps repel the pesky mosquitoes.

I'm happy the weekend is here because I cleared my schedule and expect to have lots of fun activities again :-)

Wish you all a great weekend,
Neeko :-)
P.S. Today's joke:
~ Teacher: "Which is more important to us, the sun or the moon?" Pupil: "The moon."
Teacher: "Why?" Pupil: "The moon gives us light at night when we need it but the sun gives us light only in the day time when we don't need it." ~

Hello Ladies...
I'm working on getting my Mommy to sit down and start typing about my updates soon...
Geez...we all have jobs and are very busy, but that does not mean we have to ignore commitments...

More vacation fun...

Never thought I would say this, but I'm glad that we had a relaxing Saturday!
I was on a roller coaster week of activities and by the end of it I was a cranky Yorkie...

On Wednesday we celebrated my parents' 14th wedding anniversary by getting together with my Nana and her very enthusiastic little boy, Danny G. (remember him from my Birthday bash???)
Well, the guy is on nuclear fuel or something because we played non-stop all afternoon and he still had lots of energy left in him by the time we were leaving. One just cannot extinguish enthusiasm like his.
My Nana said that he is going back to school in the fall.

Speaking of school, on Thursday we went to visit where my Daddy went to school out in DeKalb, IL.
That was a fun afternoon. We got to walk on campus and my Sis who is 14, said that she might consider Northern Illinois University; she will have to find a food related major ;-)

Aparently, my family does this every summer. It is a beautiful campus with a very nice lagoon, and a 40 acres open field, where we were hoping to have a nice quiet picnic.
Just as we spread out our blanket an uninvited guest showed up. He was a big friendly Golden who ignored his Daddy's commands and found immediately our bag of goodies.
We did not have much luck in enjoying the view because all kinds of bugs founds us (I think the big guy brought them to us).
My Mommy was spraying us with the Jasmine and the Lavender but they were just not taking the hint. So we packed our things and strolled to our comfy car were we had the air and the XM music going.
By the time we got home, it was around 10pm and I was so moody that I refused dinner and was warning my siblings left and right to keep their distance.
I just curled up in my Daddy's arms and fell asleep without moving all night.

Friday, we kind of took it easy but my Mommy had to vacuum thoroughly the entire house and wash all the beddings, because my Bro picked up a flea from somewhere and was going CRAAAZY even though he got a good bath on Thursday night.
My Sis called him a "fleabag" and he was sooo embarrassed... He is very emotional.
I just stayed out of the whole commotion, minding my business which is "talking" to everybody going by my front window...

My Bro had this message today:

Well, that about sums up my busy week. Tomorrow, I'm going to take it easy again because on Monday I have a date with new friends. Cannot wait...
Later,
Neeko :-)

P.S. The joke of the day:
~ A man walked into a doctor's office and the receptionist asked him what he had. He replied, "I got shingles."

She said, "Fill out this form and supply your name, address, medical insurance number. When you're done, please take a seat."
Fifteen minutes later a nurse's aide came out and asked him what he had. He said, "I got shingles."
So she took down his height, weight, and complete medical history, then said, "Change into this gown and wait in the examining room."
A half hour later a nurse came in and asked him what he had. He said, "I got shingles."
So she gave him a blood test, a blood pressure test, an electrocardiogram, and told him to wait for the doctor.
An hour later the doctor came in and asked him what he had. He said, "Shingles."
The doctor gave him a full-cavity examination, and then said, "I just checked you out thoroughly, and I can't find shingles anywhere. " The man replied, "They're outside in the truck. Where do you want them?" ~

My very 1'st boat ride :-)

Wow! That was Awesome...

I went up to Lake Geneva, WI with my family today on a power boat.
My parents were curious to see how I would handle the new activity.
Well, like a trooper of course! I'm game for everything as I said before :-)

Check out for yourselves:

A bit hot down here...

Taking in the breeze...

Life is good...

All calm and clear...

Wait... I just spotted something...

Another boat... Gee, I thought we rented the entire Lake...
Well, they were lucky they did not come any closer!
My Mommy likes to see us sit together...

All peaceful again...

Afterwards we went and walked along the Lake on the Indian Trail where we always meet a lot of nice people.

We were rewarded at the end with ice cream :-) Yay!
I have to go floss before going to bed because tomorrow, we pick up and go again somewhere else.
I love it when my parents are on vacation :-)

Later,
Neeko :-)
P.S. Today's joke:

~ Little Pete came home from the playground with a bloody nose, black eye, and torn clothing. It was obvious he’d been in a bad fight and lost. While his father was patching him up, he asked his son what happened.

“Well, Dad,” said Pete, “ I challenged Larry to a duel. And, you know, I gave him his choice of weapons.”
“Uh-huh,” said the father, “that seems fair.”
“I know, but I never thought he’d choose his sister!” ~

The continuation of my Big day :-)

We arrived in Evanston by Lake Michigan; our favorite spot...
The breeze of the Lake made us hungry for a snack...

Danny G. is still pretty wound up; I guess the breeze did not calm him down...
We are still going at it...
This is me and Danny after our walk; still loaded with energy ;-)

After we dropped off Danny G., we went to eat.
Waiting for dinner...

This is us on the way home... my Sis was waaay deep in her bed so picture not available ;-)
my Bro said that he was not tired at all... at least I do not deny it that I was bushed!

Today we took it easy because tomorrow we are going to Lake Geneva, WI on a power boat. My Bro told me that is great fun so cannot wait :0)
Better get some good zzz's for that...

Later,
Neeko :-)
P.S. The joke of the day:
~ Little Emily was complaining to her mother that her stomach hurt. Her mother replied: “That’s because it's empty. Maybe you should try putting something in it." The next day, the pastor was over at Emily's family's house for lunch. He mentioned having his head hurt, to which Emily immediately replied: "That's because it's empty. Maybe you should try putting something in it." ~

My very First Birthday :-)

I heard once that things never happen to you, they happen for you. Indeed they did happen for me...

I came into this world one year ago today!

Lots of things happened in my life since then.
I had a pretty rocky start, but my foster Mama Corrine told me that she will find the perfect family for me and oh boy! she did! She will always have a VERY special place in my heart for everything she did for me.

I'm happy to share with you all, my very special day :-)

I woke up this morning and my parents sang Happy Birthday to me.
After breakfast I got up in my lookout window and announced it to everybody that it is my birthday.
In the afternoon, we picked up my Birthday pie from my Auntie Renee who is also my Godmother. She makes delicious pies for our birthdays and they are always her gift to us.

We got to Danny G.'s house and I'm going to let the pictures speak for themselves...

As you can see, I love my Daddy...
and I love my Mommy...
I guess when it is your Birthday, you get away with a lot of things; sorry Nana, my Daddy put me up on your table, I swear!
Thanks for the beautiful card!

After we finished the delicious pie, we went to Evanston by Lake Michigan and laid on a blanket followed by a 3 miles walk to work off the calories and as my parents put it: to wear out Danny G. Ha haaa... good luck with that one ;-)

To be continued...

I have to go to bed now 'cause I'm bushed but check in with me soon as I have more fun videos from the Lake ☺

Later, Neeko officially 1 year old! Yay!!! ☻

That was fun...

Well, we are back from the concert in the park.
The band's name was "World Class Noise" and my Bro said that makes sense why they were sooo loud; remember? he is sensitive to loud noises... but survived ;-)
Boy! I thought we were going to get rained out but I guess the rain clouds went North of us. What a lucky break ☺

I have to run again, my Mommy is calling to go to bed... (I think she just wants to get on the computer)
Later,
Neeko ☺
